Alfreton & District Canine Society is a non-profit organisation, originally set in the heart of Derbyshire in 1939. A small group of dog fanciers from Belper, South Normanton, and some in the surrounding area, decided to get together and hold a meeting about their newly formed dog club. This was held in 'The Club Room', in the Four Horse Shoes of King Street, Alfreton. Some of the attendees include: Ruby & Thomas Degg (The Secretary) alongside Mr McCormack.
Our current president, Janet Hinchley, joined as their new Secretary in 1964, after the society moved into the 'Millitary Drill Hall' in Alfreton. Our current 'Secretary' is Dereke Allsopp, who is an International Dog Show Judge and Tracie Mason is the current 'Chairman', is a Kennel Club Associate memebr, Accredited breed Specialist and dog judge. Tracie is also BA (Hons) qualified Designer, who can be commission to paint any dog of any breed e-mail: doberlane@btinternet.com for further information.
